There is currently an ongoing debate around the introduction of assisted suicide in the UK Parliament.

The Salvation Army recognises that those advocating for a change in the law come from a place of compassion and care for those facing unbearable suffering at the end of their lives, and we strongly believe that people must have relief and dignity in their final days.

Vulnerable people are at the heart of The Salvation Army’s mission. Our territory’s value of compassion calls us all to serve others with a bias to the poor and marginalised.

That is why The Salvation Army in this territory is campaigning against the Bill: to protect vulnerable people.

This is a sensitive and complex issue, however we encourage you to engage with your Member of Parliament to share your thoughts and concerns with the fundamental changes this Bill will introduce.

Join us and use your voice to ensure we value each and every life and channel our energies instead to towards providing people with excellent health, social and palliative care.
