Will you help us save lives?

Every day, 18 people in the UK die from drugs — 88 per cent more than just a decade ago.

To stop more lives being needlessly lost, we are calling on the UK Government to urgently treat the rise in drug deaths as a public health emergency. By adding your name to this petition, you can help us push for change that will save lives.

Every person whose life was cut short by drugs was someone’s parent, sibling, child, or friend. These deaths are tragedies that could and should have been prevented.

Based on our experience supporting individuals with addictions, we know that many people turn to drugs to escape unbearable pain and trauma. A harmful addiction to drugs is not a lifestyle choice or a moral flaw, it’s a life-threatening chronic health condition and should be treated as such.

Drugs are harming some of the most vulnerable people in our society. Now, synthetic opioids, new man-made drugs that are 50 times stronger than heroin and cheaper to produce, are putting even more lives at risk.

Will you add your name and call for action to save people’s lives?
