Poverty not only harms childhoods, but damages life chances. Families affected by the two-child limit are struggling to afford the basics — heating, clothing, and even food.
At The Salvation Army, we’re supporting children referred to us by teachers, health visitors and GPs — all concerned that children in their care are going hungry.
No child should have to grow up in poverty because of government policy. The two-child limit is unfair and unjust. It denies support to third and subsequent children in a family, regardless of need. It’s a policy that strips families of dignity, makes it harder to escape poverty, and hurts children most of all.
Join us in calling on your MP to urge the UK Government to end the two-child limit.
